Make It Mondays

I am super excited to tell you about my family creative project for 2020! It’s something I have wanted to do forever and I am delighted to have started it. Make It Mondays is how we start the week now! Each Monday after school my children come home to a creative project on the kitchen table and so far we are all loving it.

If you have followed me for a while you will know that there have been many days that I have set up creative projects for my children to do but not without any consistency and I wanted to get into a weekly rhythm with it before my children all get too old to paint toilet rolls!! My older two haven’t been so into yet but I know that I have some projects coming that they will enjoy and they do love the creative scene in the kitchen. They are also super supportive of my younger two and their creativity and that is important to them.

Some of the projects will be quick and can be done in half an hour after school whereas others are more ambitious and might take two evenings all even the whole week, especially if things need to dry or we run out of a colour of paint that I wasn’t planning we’d need!

It makes me so unbelievably happy to share creativity with my children and I know how much they love it too. I am going to weave in seasons and celebrations throughout the year too. And I will share what we create here in case you want some inspiration!

So far we have made toilet roll creatures inspired by Toca Boca and we are putting the finishing touches to a colourful bird that we have been making this week. Look out for the finished bird over on Instagram this weekend! I can’t wait to hang her up.

I have Make & Do Pinterest Board that I’m always adding to and you can find it at the bottom of this post, if you want some ideas. Don’t feel like you have to do this every week but once a month would be amazing!
