What I’ve Loved In January

I love doing reviews of each month as they go by. It helps me to celebrate what has gone by and keep me motivated to be just as intentional for the month ahead. This year I thought it would be fun to document it here and share it with you too!

Stonehenge Sunset - I had wanted to go to Stonehenge during the week of the Winter Solstice but the good weather days didn’t line up with our availability, so I then kept a close eye on the weather after Christmas. The weather was pretty grim for what felt like forever but then there was a sunshine on my weather app and I knew we had to get there. So, on 2nd January we watched the sun set at Stonehenge and it was magical and it started a new year of making memories so beautifully.

Books - this month I have loved Lighter by Yung Pueblo, Happy Days by Gabby Bernstein and I am half-way through this cute, light-hearted read!

Magazine - I love the new edition of Simply Scandi. It’s making me excited for Spring and planning the next phase of decorating our home.

Afternoon films - I committed some time to deep rest this month. I will definitely be doing that every January from now on. I caught up on The Crown but I also watched It’s Complicated for the first time (how had I not watched this before?!) after listening to this cute episode of the A Beautiful Mess podcast. I spread it out over 3 or 4 afternoons, which I have realised is such a gorgeous way of having a little luxury, self-care and rest that actually fits into the life of a mother!

Exhibition - I had the most wonderful day in London with a very dear friend. We went to this super inspiring Kaffe Fassett exhibition and then enjoyed delicious pasta at Borough Market. It was a perfect London day. Watch out for some sewing on my February list!

Clearing out - I stumbled across a social media post about a family who had got rid of 50% of their possessions and now live a calmer, happier life. This is not the first time I’ve heard people do this but sometimes we need the right information and inspiration and the right time. This landed perfectly for me as the majority of my stress at home is caused by stuff, clutter, mess and not being able to find what we know is here somewhere. Not only do I hate the stress but the time wasted is such a shame. This is the year I change this for the better and it’s been great making a start with it.

Elisa’s New Moon Meditation - my lovely friend Elisa has been holding new and full moon meditations at Mell’s Walled Garden. While we wait for the weather to warm up, Elisa is hosting her meditations at her beautiful, cozy home. What a treat. If you are local to Frome I highly recommend joining one.

Frosty dog walks - I’ve loved some frosty dog walks this past month. So pretty and my dogs have loved exploring all the smells held in the frost.

And finishing the month with my Women’s Circles was magical! xo
